New Delhi, July 10 : The Karnataka Government is meeting today to consider the evidence gathered against an engineer and two doctors from the State- Sabeel Ahmed, Mohammad Haneef and Kafeel Ahmed-- in the terror plot in the United Kingdom.
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will chair the meeting to be attended by senior police and home department officials.
The meeting will delve on the crucial leads gathered by the cops and intelligence officials on Kafeel.
A senior Australian Police officer is also reportedly arriving in India to carry out investigation in connection with Mohammad Haneef, a Bangalore doctor, suspected in foiled UK terror plot.
Haneef, 27, has been detained in Brisbane for over a week without any specific charge being levelled against him.
Australia's Federal Attorney General Philip Ruddock made the announcement that an Australian Federal Police (AFP) officer has been sent to the home country of Haneef. Another AFP officer is already in London.
Haneef's detention was extended till Wednesday night.
AFP has sought extra time to go through the material gathered and conduct inquiries overseas.
Another two suspects, Kafeel Ahmed, 27, and his brother Sabeel, 26, who also belong to Bangalore, have been arrested by British police in connection with the plot.
Kafeel, who studied engineering in India, suffered critical burns in the attack on Glasgow airport in Scotland, where witnesses said he set both himself and the crashed jeep on fire.
A total of eight people have been arrested in the plot, either from the Middle East or India. Seven were arrested in Britain and one in Australia.
