Pahwa KBS has seed funded India Focussed Human Powered Search Engine, Antya.com, for an undisclosed amount.

Gurgaon (Haryana), Dec 7 : Pahwa KBS has seed funded India Focussed Human Powered Search Engine, Antya.com, for an undisclosed amount.

Antya.com is opening up its services to the public today.

Pahwa KBS is the company behind DesiMartini.com, an Indian Social Networking site, which was later acquired by FireFly E-ventures Ltd, the internet arm of HT Media Ltd.

Pahwa KBS also owns SecondShaadi.com - a matrimonial portal aimed at people looking for a second marriage. This is the first seed investment made by Pahwa KBS.

The amount will be used to set up operations in Gurgaon and Mumbai, in addition to Antya's existing set up in Chennai.

"Vivek (Head of Pahwa KBS) has been one of our first believers of the product. We are happy to partner with him," said Bharanidharan Viswanathan, co-Founder of Antya.com.

"The funds will be used to set-up our development center in Gurgaon. Right now, however, we are focused on the launch," he added.

Antya is a simplified search engine aimed at non-internet savvy or advanced users looking for quick, reliable information on the web.

"This is one of the most exciting products I have seen in a long time and am happy to invest in the venture and help the founding team in refining the product through its early stages" said Vivek Pahwa, CEO, Pahwa KBS.

Antya focuses on 'discovery', and shows results in a graphical format that has better brand recall, and focuses on variety to users.

"In India, people are not comfortable with typing, they would rather click on the web to get what they want," said Sunny Saurabh, co-Founder of Antya.com.

Antya.com is currently focussed on Indian content and in the future plans to expand its reach beyond India as well.
