New Delhi, Dec 6 : The Parliament was adjourned till 2.00 p.m. today over the Babri Masjid demolition issue.
Many members expressed anger over the slow pace of the probe by the Liberhan Commission that is looking into the case.
Samajwadi Party members in both Houses stormed the well of the house demanding prosecution of those involved in the demolition of the Babri mosque.
BJP members countered by shouting slogans like 'Mandir Wahi Banayenge'. They also chanted 'Jai Shri Ram'.
Lok Sabha, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee adjourned the House within two minutes of the opening.
It was a similar story in the Upper House.
The demolition of the 16th century mosque on December 6, 1992, triggered off nationwide communal riots that took a heavy toll of human life. he ramifications of that movement are still being felt. Senior BJP leader L K Advani is among those accused of inciting communal passions by making inflammatory statements.
After razing the Babri mosque, Hindu activists put up a makeshift temple at the site that they contend is the birthplace of Hindu god Ram.
