NC not responsible for human rights violation in J-K, says Abdullah

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, and founder of the National Conference, Farooq Abdullah, today said that his party was unnecessarily being blamed for the ongoing human right violations in the valley and the accession of Kashmir to India.

Srinagar, Dec 5 : Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, and founder of the National Conference, Farooq Abdullah, today said that his party was unnecessarily being blamed for the ongoing human right violations in the valley and the accession of Kashmir to India.

"As far as the accession issue and the human rights violation which are going on in Kashmir are concerned, we are unnecessarily being blamed," Abdullah said on occasion of his father Sheikh Abdullah's 102nd birth anniversary.

"Every time something happens people point a finger at us," he added.

Sheikh Abdullah, popularly known as 'Sher-e-Kashmir,' is still considered to be one of the tallest leaders in Jammu and Kashmir.

Farooq Abdullah also released the second edition of the autobiography of the Sheikh -- Aatish-e-Chinar -- on the occasion.

The autobiography of his father will enable younger generations to know more about the history of the state, he said.

Several Congress activists, and National Panthers Party leaders were also present on the occasion.
