Former Defence Minister and convenor of National Democratic Alliance (NDA), George Fernandes in his New Year message has announced the revival of The OtherSide journal, a decade after its publication was stopped.

New Delhi, Dec 31 : Former Defence Minister and convenor of National Democratic Alliance (NDA), George Fernandes in his New Year message has announced the revival of 'The OtherSide' journal, a decade after its publication was stopped.

Fernandes, who is also the chairman of the Editorial Board of the journal, in his message said that many leaders and his supporters had urged him to 'resurrect' the journal, which focuses on issues pertaining to socialist thought and action.

"When I became Defence Minister, I asked many of my journalist friends to take on 'The OtherSide" and 'Pretipaksh' and run it. Some of those who showed interest asked me what would be the salary, they would get. Some others talked about cars and office," Fernandes wrote in his message.

Stating the 'The OtherSide' would continue with its socialist tradition, Fernandes also a known socialist, however said that the journal will be priced at rupees 25, 15 rupees more than its previous price.

"Even so, I am certain that our readers of yesteryears and the new ones will not think a price of rupees 25 will be a burden," he added.
