New Delhi, Dec 3 : Delhi has been put on alert following inputs received by the Intelligence Bureau that Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Harkat-ul-Jihadi-al-Islami (HUJI) militants may strike the city in coming two weeks.
According to the intelligence inputs, militants of the Pakistan-based LeT and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in tandem with Bangladeshi terror outfit HUJI are planning to strike Delhi.
Delhi Police is leaving no stone unturned to avert any such plan.
"We have taken unprecedented security measures and are fully prepared. Bomb disposal squads and dog squads have been put on high alert," Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said.
Security personnel are keeping close eye at inter-state borders and areas adjoining the national capital. More police have been deployed at Delhi Metro station, railway stations, bus terminals, cinema halls, popular markets and various other important and dense areas.
Bhagat also said that they were planning to put road barricades at various intersections and sniffer dogs have already been deployed at railway stations.
In 2005, Delhi witnessed serial blasts ahead of the Diwali in which at least 60 people were killed and over 200 were injured.
