French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner met his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee here on Thursday evening.
New Delhi, Dec 21 : French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner met his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee here on Thursday evening.
Kouchner is expected to chalk out the agenda of French President Nicolas Sarkozy when he visits India in January.
Sarkozy will be the Chief Guest at next year's Republic Day function.
The French Foreign Minister met Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh this morning and reportedly discussed bilateral ties and the upcoming visit of President Sarkozy.
Kouchner will also participate in a debate with NGOs on the theme of "International Solidarity for Health", where Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes, Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma are expected to be present.
Kouchner is accompanied by his wife Christine Ockrent along with French Foreign Ministry officials.
Kouchner also visit Agra.
India and France have had a Strategic Partnership since 1998 that spans cooperation in a wide range of fields, including political, economic, defence and high technology areas like space and civilian nuclear energy.
