Hyderabad, December 20....: A problem once bothered Neeta Gosalia, a Malaysian Indian turned into a solution and became a big business enterprise as Neeta's Herbal. For the past twenty three years since Neeta's Herbal was born, it has become a most sought after brand to fall back on for hair loss and skin care for over two million customers annually in countries like Malaysia, USA, U.K. Holland, Burma etc. Turned that traumatic experience into a multimillion business enterprise with an annual turnover of US $ 30 million(Rs 147 crores).

Neeta's Herbal after tasting success in many countries arrives into India through their Indian partner, Dhaatri Herbals Pvt. Ltd, a subsidiary of Dhaatri Group, a Hyderabad based Construction, Infrastructure Development and Communications Company. With tie up with Neeta's Herbal, Dhaatri formally diversifies into Herbal Medicine. Neeta's Herbal India's first Clinic will be formally opened here in Hyderabad on 22nd December.

Hyderabad is a logical choice for Neeta's Herbal as it already has a strong customers base made more sense to start their India's first outlet at Hyderabad. Soon through the Dhatri Herbals, Neeta's Herbal plans to expand to many cities in India. It plans to set up about six centres across the country in the next twelve months of operation and plans to reach every major city in next two years informed M. Manjunatha Reddy, Managing Director of Dhatri Herbals. This expansion will be taken up with an expected investment of Rs 20 crore.

Addressing a joint press conference along with Neeta Gosalia, Principal of Neeta's Herbal, the brain behind the success of its business, Manjunatha Reddy says that they have identified traditional Indian Herbal Medicine is the next growth sector and want to diversify into the same by tieing up Neeta's Herbals as it's exclusive franchisee in India.

Neeta's Herbal Clinics specifically treat problems related to the scalp and skin, like hair loss, premature greying, pigmentation and acne. Neeta's Herbals has many products which manufactured in house in Malaysia. And they are approved by US FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) under external use category in the year 1995.

Stating further Manjunatha Reddy added that at 17, Neeta Gosalia, Malaysian Indian, born to Gujarati Father and Malaysian mother in Malaysia and brought up there suffered from severe hair loss. Desperated, Neeta came to India looking for a cure which not only gave her a headfull of hair but also a 'fat' bank account. Turning a traumatic experience into a multi-million-ringgit enterprise is hardly something many can boast of.

Although initially unimpressed by the rudimentary method of treatment practiced by the herbalist and put off by the strong-smelling ingredients he used, Neeta was stunned to discover the amazing results he produced. Within three days, her hair stopped falling and after three months, new hair started to grow on her scalp. This experience started Neeta on a journey to discover the ancient Indian art of traditional healing called Ayurveda. Subsequently she has studied Herbal medicine. For Neeta Gosalia, 43 now, it's a story she can sit back and recall with pride.

Neeta set up her first centre in Malaysia in Brickfields in 1986. Six years later she had a nationwide-chain of Neeta's Herbal centres. Today Neeta's Herbal has 43 outlets all countries like USA, UK, Dubai, Holland, Burma and soon plans to expand to Iran, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, China and other countries. Now Neeta's Herbal expands to India. 43 outlets across so many countries is a testament to her passion and belief in the healing powers of herbs. About three lakh people visit these outlets put together annually. A belief obviously shared by many other Malaysians as the company has an annual turnover of Rs 147 crore.

Within 8 years of the business, Neeta's Herbal expanded to United States of America in 1992. As the laws in US do not permit expansion so easily, a lone centre in California has been selling products through Mail Order. Since the first clinic in USA, the people have been flocking there for the unique treatment, said Times Group Newspaper in its issue dated 18th March, 1999.

Neeta Gosalia has been widely featured in Media across many countries like Zee TV Britain, Indian Today, Britain; The Press(UK), New Strait Times(Malaysia), Times Group Newspapers(UK), Sunday Mail(Malaysia) and many other.

Neeta's Herbal has an impressive portfolio of customers some of them include members of Royal Families, Lords, Judges, Film Stars and many such luminaries.

Sixty-five percent of Neeta's Herbal customers are Chinese. 'Herbal treatment has a universal appeal because they work well for everyone,' says Neeta Gosalia talking to the media men in city.

She is the recipient of woman Entrepreneur of the year award by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in 1995. She is also a receipient of National Business Entrepreneur Award in the year 2004 from the Government of Malaysia. Soon on January 8, 2008 Neeta's Herbal is going to be bestowed with the most coveted award from the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Unlike many other practitioners of herbal beauty treatments, Neeta's Herbal manufactures its own products through a small factory in Batang Berjuntai, Selangor in Malaysia. The herbs are imported from India and then carefully measured and mixed in very specific amounts to be very effective.

Herbal remedies, says Neeta, don't promise quick results and consumers should be wary of the increasingly large number of products flooding the market that claims to be herb-based, but boasts quick and amazing results. Our products or treatments are not a miracle cure to the problem. All round counselling together with appropriate portion herbs coupled with other factors produce results over a period of time. I make my customers very clear on these aspects, Neeta explains her amazing success story.

Ayurveda, she says, is a holistic treatment, requiring not just herbal medicine but also a change in life-style for results to be visible. 'Many ailments are connected to the levels of stress in our lives and the unhealthy eating habits that we practice. So it's not possible for customers to find a solution in just a bottle of shampoo or jar of cream,' she says.

'It's important for customers to undergo a proper consultation with trained staff before they start using any product.' Wanting to explore the potential of other markets. Soon Neeta's is planning to expand to South Africa as well.

A Neeta's Herbals is making mark wherever she has expanded to. But, the real success she attributes to the power of Indian herbs.

She finally expands to the country, India, which has given her that power. She brings her most sought after products and services to India, that too to Hyderabad after experiencing success all over the world. It is a matter of pride to expand my business to the country of my father. Dhatri Group of Companies is appointed exclusive franchisee for India. A new clinic is stated to come up in Banjara Hills and will be formally inaugurated on 22nd December in city.
