The Calcutta High Court today directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to submit its probe report into the mysterious death of computer graphic designer teacher Rizwanur Rehman on January 8.
Kolkata, Dec 17 : The Calcutta High Court today directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to submit its probe report into the mysterious death of computer graphic designer teacher Rizwanur Rehman on January 8.
While accepting the plea of CBI counsel Ranjan Roy, Justice Soumitra Pal granted the agency time till January 8 to submit its report.
Justice Pal, on October 16, had directed the CBI to complete the investigation and submit its report before the court within two months but it could not be done as some formalities were yet to be completed by the central investigating agency.
Rizwanur had married Priyanka to under the Special Marriage Act on August 18.
Rizwanur's body was found on the railway tracks between Bidhannagar Road and Dum Dum Junction on September 21, almost a month after his marriage to Priyanka, daughter of a businessman Ashok Todi.
