Campaigning for the Congress party ahead of the second phase of Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi today promised to develop the State as an educational hub.
Kullu, Dec 16 : Campaigning for the Congress party ahead of the second phase of Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi today promised to develop the State as an educational hub.
Addressing a public meeting in Kullu, Rahul emphasised the importance of higher education and development in the State.
"We need to move forward. We have developed (the state) on the front of transportation by laying roads, electricity generation and mobile connectivity. Now, we need to focus on higher education and strive to develop Himachal Pradesh as a hub of education," said Rahul.
The term of the State Legislative Assembly is due to expire on March 9, 2008.
With over 4.5 million people eligible to cast their votes, the second phase of the election is likely to see an interesting contest.
The first phase of election was held on November 14. The second phase of elections is scheduled for December 19 with results to be announced by the end of the month.
