Mumbai, Dec 15 : A trial court will announce its verdict today in the BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan murder case.
Pravin Mahajan is facing charges of murdering his elder brother Pramod. He has been charged under Sections 302 (murder) and 449 (house trespass) of the Indian Penal Code.
Pravin surrendered before the police on April 22, admitting he had shot three bullets into Pramod at the latter's flat in the Poornima building in Worli, Central Mumbai, after having an argument over some property dispute.
While Pravin claims it was a case of accidental firing, the prosecution has made out a case for murder.
With the judge ruling out culpable homicide not amounting to murder, the only charge Pravin has stood trial for is murder.
