Congress on Saturday won the Khargone Lok Sabha seat and Sanver Assembly bypolls in Madhya Pradesh.
Bhopal, Dec 15 : Congress on Saturday won the Khargone Lok Sabha seat and Sanver Assembly bypolls in Madhya Pradesh.
This has come as a major setback to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh.
Congress candidate Arun Yadav won the Khargone seat by a margin of over 1.18 lakh votes. The bypoll for Khargone seat was necessitated due to sitting MP, BJP's Krishnamurari Moghe's disqualification on the issue of Office of Profit controversy.
Arun Yadav got 3,92,000 votes, while Moghe polled 2,73,454 votes.
In Sanver Assembly bypoll, Congress candidate Tulsi Ram Silavat defeated BJP's Santosh Malviya by a margin of 9,292 votes. While Silavat got 55,179 votes, Malviya bagged 45,887 votes.
