A fast track court of Nawada district in Bihar has sentenced a former minister, Aditya Singh, for killing a village headman in 2006.

Patna, Dec 12 : A fast track court of Nawada district in Bihar has sentenced a former minister, Aditya Singh, for killing a village headman in 2006.

Additional District and Sessions Judge of fast track court, V S Pathak, had convicted former minister and Congress leader Aditya Singh and his three associates Narsingh Singh, Mukesh Singh and Tarun Singh, under Section 302 of IPC and the Arms Act.

They were convicted for killing Lalan Singh, the head of Sakarpura village, in Nawada district on January 6, 2006.

Aditya Singh was a Minister of State for Animal Husbandry in the Rabri Devi Government.

Singh, who has earned a nickname of a 'bahubali' (muscle power) leader mainly for his strong-arm tactics, is presently in jail.

Aditya Singh, a former MLA from Hisua assembly seat, also faces several criminal cases, including murder, kidnapping and extortion. According to official sources, the fast-track courts have so far convicted over 15,000 criminals across the state.
