The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for the opening of Indian Missions / Post in Reykjavik (Iceland), Guatemala City, Niamey (Niger), Bamako (Mali) and Guangzhou (China).
New Delhi, Aug 9 : The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for the opening of Indian Missions / Post in Reykjavik (Iceland), Guatemala City, Niamey (Niger), Bamako (Mali) and Guangzhou (China).
The Cabinet also gave the go ahead for creation of one Consulate General and four Ambassadors in the Grade of Joint Secretary.
This decision will help in order to safeguard and promote India's strategic, economic and political interests in the respective regions.
The opening of the Missions and creation of the posts is likely to be undertaken during 2007-08.
