At least twelve persons were injured when Jodhpur-Howrah Express derailed at Juhi yards about eight kilometres form Kanpur station under Allahabad Division this afternoon.
Kanpur (UP), Aug 7 : At least twelve persons were injured when Jodhpur-Howrah Express derailed at Juhi yards about eight kilometres form Kanpur station under Allahabad Division this afternoon.
Two engines and two coaches of the train derailed at 12.25 p.m. when it was on its way from Jodhpur to Howrah.
The injured have been admitted to the Railway Hospital and the Civil Hospital in Kanpur.
Traffic has been disrupted on the Howrah-Delhi route.
An accident relief train along with a Railway medical team has reached the spot. General Manager, North Central Railway and Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Allahabad Division are also expected to arrive shortly.
Rescue operations are on in full swing.
