Citibank Presents 'Captain of Captains'

New Delhi, Delhi, India

Citibank India has partnered with Krishcricket, the leading provider of cricket based digital entertainment, to launch Citibank Captain of Captains an exciting, new online cricketing game. As the Indian team, which is currently touring England, heads into a packed season with matches scheduled against Australia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka apart from the Twenty20 World Cup, Citibank Captain of Captains provides an exciting opportunity to avid cricket fans across the world, to become the Captain and select his/her own team in the virtual domain.

The selection process of any team is never easy, neither in the real world nor in the virtual world. Accordingly in this game, the players will experience the thrills and challenges of selection where one small error can make all the difference between winning and losing. Each player has the opportunity to choose his best eleven from 192 players representing the 16 cricket playing countries. A maximum of 6 players can be selected from each country with the mandatory option to have at least one wicket keeper in the side. Post team selection is the wait for the match in the real world to start and see how the chosen players perform. Flexible options for the game's participants allow them to come back every single day and make team changes.

Mr. Vijay Ramchandran, Country Marketing Director, Citibank N. A. said, "This game will provide an exciting opportunity to our customers, many of whom are avid cricket buffs, to test their cricketing acumen by selecting a team of their choice and contesting against other participants. Choosing the right team makes all the difference, in cricket, as in financial services."

Helping the selection process are the teams selected individually by leading cricketing personalities including Krish Srikkanth, Ashok Malhotra and Chetan Sharma. Players can check the team chosen by the aforementioned personalities and keep track of the performances of their teams, seek tips and suggestions. To make the selection more exciting, Citibank Captain of Captains details the past performances at each venue, statistics, pitch reports and player profiles.

Speaking about this game, Krish Srikkanth, Former Indian Cricket Captain and Promoter of Krishcricket said," I have used my personal experience and involvement with Cricket for over the last 25 years to design Citibank Captain of Captains and it is but natural for us to partner with Citibank, the 'Captain of Captains' in the financial services industry, to bring this game to cricket lovers. The game provides an opportunity for participants to don the hat of a selector and pick his/her own team and tests the skills of the participant in understanding the dynamics of team composition."

The performance of each team is judged on the basis of number of 'runs' scored. The number of 'runs' scored directly depends on how the players of your virtual team have performed on the real playing field.

An exciting range of prizes including a trip to Australia to watch a Test match, Plasma TV, Laptop, Mobile Phones, iPods and much more will be awarded to the winners. Watch out for some special prizes for the Twenty20 World Cup. This limited period promotion is on till October 17th 2007.
