The Centre today said that they have received no information of any al Qaeda threat and that the countrys security forces are always ready to face any such eventuality.
New Delhi, Aug 6 : The Centre today said that they have received no information of any al Qaeda threat and that the country's security forces are always ready to face any such eventuality.
On Saturday, al Qaeda released a new video, featuring Adam Yahiye Gadahn- an American al Qaeda member, in which he was threatening to attack diplomatic missions of India all over the world.
India should be "ready" to see a series of terror attacks, threatened the al Qaeda member in the video.
Minister of State for Home Affairs, Sriprakash Jaiswal today said: "There is no news of any such threat now. But we are always prepared for any eventuality."
"I request people not to panic, as we are ready to face any eventuality," he added.
With the Independence Day approaching security has already been tightened in different parts of the country.
