Eight injured in grenade attack in J-K

At least eight people were injured when militants hurled a grenade at a vehicle of security forces in Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir early this morning.

Srinagar, Aug 5 : At least eight people were injured when militants hurled a grenade at a vehicle of security forces in Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir early this morning.

According to a police spokesperson, the grenade missed its intended target and exploded on the road, injuring at least eight passers-by.

The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.

The attack comes following a threat by Hizbul Mujahideen chief and the chairman of Kashmir's United Jihad Council Syed Salahuddin to increase militant attacks in the Valley.
