Protestors clash with police over sex racket in Delhi

Scores of protestors damaged buses and cars, and clashed with police here on Thursday over an alleged sex racket involving a schoolteacher.

New Delhi, Aug 30 : Scores of protestors damaged buses and cars, and clashed with police here on Thursday over an alleged sex racket involving a schoolteacher.

The protesters, which included parents, took to the streets after a private news channel aired a sting operation, showing a sex racket in a girls' school. The footage showed a teacher forcing students for acting in blue films.

The angered mob, destroyed public and private vehicles and pelted stones at the police, forcing them to baton charge and fire tear gas shells to control the mob.

"Khurana (schoolteacher) used the children for making blue films. She would drug them, to do those dirty acts. The principal and teachers in the school knew what was going on," said Salem Khan, an eyewitness.

A local councillor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi rapped the news channel for sensationalising the issue, and said the teacher involved in the racket had already been arrested.

"The woman in question is not from here and she is from Vivek Vihar. She was just posted here and has been suspended and arrested. Due action will be taken against her. I appeal to everyone to maintain calm," said Ubed Iqbal, Councillor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Extra security forces have been deployed in the area to avert any further flare up.
