At least sixteen people, including three policemen, were injured when militants hurled a grenade in Banihal area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, about 175 kilometres from here, this evening.
Srinagar, Aug 3 : At least sixteen people, including three policemen, were injured when militants hurled a grenade in Banihal area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, about 175 kilometres from here, this evening.
According to eyewitnesses, unidentified persons hurdled a grenade intended on a police patrol at around 4.30 p.m. which missed the intended target and exploded on roadside.
The incident took place when the market was crowded.
Ten of the injured persons have been brought to Srinagar for treatment where the condition of three, including one woman, is said to be critical.
No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
