Sukhvir Singh the winner of 'Cricket Star series I' is actually living his dream as he enjoys his reward at Leicestershire County Cricket Club. The twenty-year-old Punjabi lad, the first Cricket Star of India, could not have asked for a better place in England to further his Cricket education. Sukhvir feels good to have bowled to the Indian Team, which is currently in London playing their test and ODI series against England. Sukhvir has got the opportunity to be at the nets with Indian cricket team. Stalwarts from the Indian team like Yuvraj Singh, Rahul Dravid, Gautam Gambhir, Ramesh Powar and Wasim Jaffer have also provided some tips to Sukhvir who has so far played seven matches for Leicestershire's second team, picking up 17 wickets. Sukhvir has worked with Dennis Lillee at the MRF Pace Academy and has interacted with Cricket luminaries like Kapil Dev, Waqar Younis, Geoffery Boycott to name a few.
Tim Boon, the Leicestershire County coach says "Sukhvir's daily practice includes the fitness testing and screening as well as practicing with the squad. We have placed him with Ivanhoe one of our profile clubs and played him in some Second team games."
It took one full month for Sukhvir to come to the terms with the cold climatic conditions of England. "I am blessed & lucky to spend my summers here and receive the right kind of guidance from the Cricket Gurus. I have come a long way from my village and still have a long way to go to fulfill my ultimate dream of playing for India", says Sukhvir. Thanks to the reality show Cricket Star that has given Sukhvir a chance to turn his dreams into reality.
Dinesh Salunkhe, the contestant from Mumbai who was the "Man of the Series" for the Cricket Star Series I, is also enjoying the times of his life in Leicester, England. Salunkhe, who was offered scholarship by former Indian Captain and legendary Kapil Dev, and a Contract with Air India is playing for Little Thorpe and Narbourough club at Leicester. Dinesh has so far played 3 matches in which he has scored 207 runs and taken 8 wickets. Salunkhe got an opportunity to meet English pace man Sajid Mahmood. Robin Singh and Romesh Powar, who are a part of the Indian Team which is currently in England, met this Mumbai lad and appreciated his performance at Leicester.
Thanks to this unique reality show, 'Cricket Star' that has given a chance to these two budding young cricketers to turn their dream into reality.
