A major fire at a Spencers retail outlet godown in the Kondhwa region of Pune has destroyed goods worth thousands of dollars.
Pune, Aug 27 : A major fire at a Spencer's retail outlet godown in the Kondhwa region of Pune has destroyed goods worth thousands of dollars.
The fire, which broke out at around 5.30 this morning, spread to five other Spencer godowns located nearby.
According to officials, goods worth over 489,000 dollars were damaged in the blaze.
The warehouse contained inflammable items like electronic goods, sugar and wheat.Devendra Potphode, a Fire Brigade official, said one part of the godown has ben saved, and added that 20 fire tenders were used to douse the inferno.
No casualties were reported.
