US condemns Hyderabad twin blasts

The United States today condemned Saturdays twin blasts in Hyderabad and termed it as vicious act of terrorism.

New Delhi, Aug 26 : The United States today condemned Saturday's twin blasts in Hyderabad and termed it as vicious act of terrorism.

A statement issued here by the US Embassy said that Americans have extended their sympathies to those injured and killed, and to their families and loved ones.

"Our thoughts are with the people of Hyderabad and all of India at this sad time," it said.

"We have been in contact with the Government of India to share the condolences of the American people to offer assistance in our shared fight against those who commit terror," the release added. At least 42 people were killed and several others were injured in two powerful blasts, one at a Lumbini Park, another at a popular eatery joint, Gokul Chat Bhandar at Sultan Bazar within a gap of 30 minutes on Saturday evening.
