A re-alignment of political parties is expected if the Left withdraws its support to the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre over the Indo-US civilian nuclear cooperation deal.
New Delhi, Aug 26 : A re-alignment of political parties is expected if the Left withdraws its support to the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre over the Indo-US civilian nuclear cooperation deal.
A mid-term poll cannot be declared by the UPA after the Left parties pull out of the government, as the ruling alliance will be in minority in such scenario in the Lok Sabha, according to politicsparty.com.
This is likely to result in a new alliance led by Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar.
The website reported that Pawar has requested the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led national Democratic Alliance (NDA) to support a non-Congress Government if the crisis arising out of the nuclear deal led to the fall of the UPA Government.
