The Indo-US bilateral civilian nuclear cooperation deal has brought the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) General Secretary, Prakash Karat, to the centre stage.

New Delhi, Aug 26 : The Indo-US bilateral civilian nuclear cooperation deal has brought the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) General Secretary, Prakash Karat, to the centre stage.

According to politicsparty.com, Karat by his ideological wisdom and controlled aggression has made the CPM and other Left parties immensely popular among the Communist voters of the country.

Terming Karat as India's Mao, the website says the Left leader has become the country's most popular Communist leader ever.

"Prakash Karat has the potential to combine the best of Mao and Deng into his evolving political personality," the website writes, adding that his best is yet to come.
