New Delhi, Aug 22 : Akie Abe, the wife of visiting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, today visited a Japanese School, as her husband talked business with the Indian leadership.
Mrs. Abe, who interacted with school children, said she hoped the two countries would be able build on their 50-year-old relationship.
"Japan and India have fostered good relations over the past 50 years. I was only hoping that the long and good relations are further promoted. Japan is important for India and India is important for Japan," she said.
Abe also joined a school children playing session, skipping ropes and building blocks with them.
Students dressed in Indian outfits danced to traditional music as part of a cultural show put up to welcome Japan's First Lady.
The school has around 160 Japanese students studying from kindergarten to Grade Nine.
