'Karunya', From The Boy Next Door To The Voice Of The Nation
Hyderabad, August 20... Hyderabad's sensational singer N.C. Karunya makes to the national scale in singing. He is also an amazing showman and live performer and releases his debut album titled "Karunya" on Times Music with some peppy numbers and romantic tunes. The album addresses all genres of music ranging from the romantic "Teri Aankhen", "O Jaane-E-Jaan" the emotional and club, pop, lounge etc. Each song has its own mood and melody. Music of this album has been composed by Lesle Lewis and the video is directed by Madhu Sarkar.
Born in Hyderabad, Karunya's journey in the field of music began when he was initiated into Carnatic Classical music at the age of 3. Since then he has been learning and improvising on his abilities. He had his first audio release at age 7 and second at 12. Karunya was the state winner of a musical show contest Hosted by Sri.S.P.Balasubramanyam on E TV.
Karunya is, today, the most versatile singer in India and has abilities to sing in multiple languages. The great Vidhu Vinod Chopra launched Karunya in Bollywood through a song for Lage Raho Munnabhai. Karunya was awarded the best Male Play back Singer of 2006 for his song in "Sainukudu" in Telugu. The song topped the charts for 23 weeks. He has performed in the US, five times in the past year. Karunya's desire is to reach out through his music. His guru is Sri.N.C.Murthy who also happens to be his uncle.
