Chandigarh, Aug 20 : `WE', an all women artists' group, is encouraging women, who were losing touch with their professional abilities in art.
Sadhna Sangar, a fine art lecturer at Government College, Mohali, has displayed her artwork at various art galleries in North India.
Four years ago, Sadhna formed `WE', an all women artists' group, to encourage women who were losing touch with their professional abilities.
Sadhna said: "All those women who are qualified artists and have left their jobs, but still desire to move towards their professional level, I encourage them to work. Being united on a single platform one would be able to co-ordinate better. One's vision gets wider and one reaches out the most."
Her endeavour of bringing together like-minded women artists and help them find self expression through their works of art has earned her great appreciation.
With over a dozen members including students, professionals and artists, the group provides art coaching to aspirants and makes them self-reliant.
Many young female artists are becoming part of the group to have their work on display in famous art galleries.
They share the ideas, the concepts and the latest in artwork to get a fair deal in the field of professional art.
Guneeta Chaddha, a member said: "Here we have no ego problem and women are trying to promote each other. We are doing things to promote art."
Jasmine, another member, said: "I really like the work of other artists out here. They have been a source of inspiration for me. When I got an opportunity, I joined this group. Other students like me also get an opportunity to join this group."
