Guwahati, Aug.20 : Who doesn't want a fit n fine body? But most of us are reluctant to sweat it out in the gym, and that too without a professional trainer.
Bijit Gogoi of Assam is not only promoting body-building as a sport, but also motivating people in the State to take up fitness a bit more seriously.
A resident of Sivsagar, a small town in Assam, Bijit has been a body-building champion and won the prestigious "Mr. India" title in body-building in 2004 and 2006.
Bijit has had a passion for body-building since childhood and his deep interest has helped body-building grow from a sport to a profession in Assam."I have a good earning and therefore I also plan to open my personal fitness training institute to train youngsters not only in body-building but also in weight-training. I wish to teach them how such training can help them in sports besides psychological and physical development," Bijit says.
Today, he is inspiring a big number of fitness-conscious individuals, especially in the north east.
Pranab Gogoi, one of Bijit's trainees, said: "We are fortunate that we are training under a person, who has been a Mr. India."
Keshab Sharma, another trainee, said; "It is an honour to be training under Bijit. I hope that Bijit will help in creating a fit and a healthy society."
Bijit is eager to see youngsters from the north east take up body-building for fame and glory.
Every year, sportspersons and locals witness body builders from different parts of the country participating in the popular "Saraighat Body building Championship" here.
