The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for implementation of the scheme of Vocational Training Improvement project to improve the employment of their student.
New Delhi, Aug 2 : The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for implementation of the scheme of Vocational Training Improvement project to improve the employment of their student.
The cost of the world Bank assisted project would be shared between the centre and the states with the centre contributory 75 percent(Rs 1231crores) and the rest (Rs 350 crore) to be borne by the state.
Under the Project,training programme for upgrading quality of education at 400 Industrial Training Institutes (it is) will be taken up.
However, in case of northeastern states, the centre would share 90 percent of the cost of the project.
The Project aimed to improve the employment opportunities of graduates has three components, improving the quality of vocational training, sromoting systemic reforms and innovation, and project management, and monitoring and evaluation.
The approval aims at empowerment of ITIs, greater flexibility, reforms in administrative procedure, better linkages with work requirements and conducting training programmes in emerging areas.
This approach will bring significant improvement in internal and external efficiency of the ITIs including employment situation of the certificate holders, a government release stated.
