Hyderabad, August 17....: Nine out of ten piles patients avoid surgery due to fear of pain and long recovery period associated with conventional piles surgery. As a result, quacks take advantage of the fear and offer treatments that is unsafe and untested sometimes very dangerous.

But, piles surgery with Stapler is minimally invasive procedure for Haemorrhoids. And it is patient friendly, causes minimum pain, ensures fast recovery, needs only 24 hours hospitalisation and costs 30 per cent less than procedures used earlier, disclosed Pioneer Circle. Pioneer Circle is a group 80 surgeons from all over India including 3 from twin cities who have been pioneers in Stapler Surgery for Piles.

Krishnamohan, Surgical Gastroenterologist of Yashoda Hospital who is one of the three Pioneer Circle members in city said globally, it is estimated that close to one-third of the population suffer from piles at some point in their lives. Piles is a life-style problem and is increasingly prevalent in the age group between 30 to 60 years of age. Dr. Rajeev Premnath, National Coordinator for the Pioneer's Circle from Bangalore also participated in the program.

Stapler surgery was invented by Dr Antonio Longo, a Surgeon in Italy in 1993. Since then on an average 10,000 procedures are done per annum in India and 2000 in twin cities. This is a proven procedure internationally. But, still there is not much awareness about this procedure. This procedure needs 24 hours hospitalization and one can do regular work immediately on discharge. The basic cost of the treatment exclusive of other expenses is just about Rs 9,000 to 10,000/-.

Piles occur basically due to sedentary life-styles. To prevent it from occurrence, one has to eat lot of fibre food (at least 20% of diet should be fibrous) and consume atleast three litres of water every day.

The doctors present on the occasion pledged that they will take the world from Piles to Smiles. For more information, Media may contact Pioneers' Circle member Dr. Y. Krishna Mohan can be reached on his Mobile: 98490-33402
