The Union Cabinet today gave its ex-post-facto approval to the Extradition Treaty singed between India and Portugal on January 11 this year.
New Delhi, Aug 16 : The Union Cabinet today gave its ex-post-facto approval to the Extradition Treaty singed between India and Portugal on January 11 this year.
At its weekly meeting here, the Cabinet also gave the green signal for authorising the ratification of the treaty.
The proposed treaty would provide a legal framework for seeking extradition of terrorists, economic offenders, and other criminals from and to Portugal.
The Cabinet also gave the go ahead for concluding a Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement with Macedonia.
This agreement is likely to increase investments between India and Macedonia.
