The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its final approval for funding and execution of New Line and Gauge Conversion projects with their distance, estimated cost and the proposed year of completion.
New Delhi, Aug 16 : The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its final approval for funding and execution of New Line and Gauge Conversion projects with their distance, estimated cost and the proposed year of completion.
The project includes Bhojhipura-Pilibhit-Tanakpur Gauge Conversion, Chota Udepur-Dhar New Line, Chandigarh - Baddi New Line, Bihta-Aurangabad via Anugraha Narayan Road New Line, Bariarpur-Mananpur via Kharagpur and Barahat New Line, Sultanganj-Katuria via Asarganj and Belhar New Line, and Rayadurg-Tumkur New Line.
The project had been approved in principle and announced in the Railway Minister's Budget speech earlier this year.
The total requirement of funds for these projects, which are expected to help in socio-economic development of the concerned areas, is Rs.2796 crore.
