A special joint session of the Parliament was held here today on the occasion of countrys 60th anniversary of independence.

New Delhi, Aug 15 : A special joint session of the Parliament was held here today on the occasion of country's 60th anniversary of independence.

Noted Sarod player Amjad Ali Khan performed recital for the dignitaries, which included President Pratibha Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee.

His two sons- Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan- accompanied the Sarod maestro.

Pandit Jasraj also recited a song, which was followed by a special screening of a documentary film on Independence Day.
