Shiv Sena holds nationwide protests against Pakistan

Shiv Sena party held nationwide protests against Pakistan on Tuesday, blaming it for the upsurge of terrorism.

Jammu / Thane (Maharashtra)/ Bhopal, Aug 15 : Shiv Sena party held nationwide protests against Pakistan on Tuesday, blaming it for the upsurge of terrorism.

Around 300 party protesters took out a protest and shouted anti-Pakistan slogans. They also burnt a Pakistani flag.

In Thane, scores of party workers took out a protest blaming Pakistan for terror activities against India.

Commenting on Pakistan's connection with terror, Sachin Chavan, a protester, said: "Everyone knows about Pakistan. Whenever any terror activity takes place, Pakistan is always involved in some way or the other. If India gaveirth to freedom fighters and revolutionaries, Pakistan has given birth to terrorists."

In Bhopal, party protesters took to the streets, shouting anti-Pakistan slogans.

The protesters said they celebrated a 'Mourning Day' on August 14 every year, over the partition of British colonial India, which had led to the formation of India and Pakistan.

"We celebrate August 14 as Mourning Day. We do so, because on this day only our country was divided into two parts," said Gudda Dwivedi, a protester.

Both Pakistan and India were carved out of British colonial India in 1947 and celebrate their 60th anniversary this year.
