Manmohan gets Sonias full backing on nuke deal

Congress President Sonia Gandhi today appreciated Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for his efforts in getting the Indo-US civilian nuclear energy deal through.

New Delhi, Aug 14 : Congress President Sonia Gandhi today appreciated Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for his efforts in getting the Indo-US civilian nuclear energy deal through.

Addressing the members of the Congress Parliamentary Party here, Sonia said that Dr. Singh had done everything in a manner that was most desired for the deal to be materialised.

Endorsing the deal with the US, which is facing flak from both opposition BJP and the Left leaders, Sonia criticised the BJP for making it a political issue.

She asserted that national sovereignty has not been compromised at all by the deal.
