Chhari Mubarak, the holy mace of Lord Shiva, today reached the Shankaracharya temple in Srinagar for performing puja, an important ritual of the annual Amaranth Yatra.
Srinagar, Aug 12 : Chhari Mubarak, the holy mace of Lord Shiva, today reached the Shankaracharya temple in Srinagar for performing puja, an important ritual of the annual Amaranth Yatra.
A large number of sadhus and pilgrims, headed by Mahant Deependra Giri, Mahant of Dashnami Akhara Trust, carried the Chhari Mubarak from Akhara to the temple this morning.
As per the ritual, puja will be performed at Hariparbat temple on Monday.
'Mahant Giri' puja will also be performed for maintaining peace and prosperity in the country, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.
Prayers will also be offered for the migrant pundit's safe return to the Valley.
The 'darshan' ritual at the holy Amarnath cave will be performed on August 22.
