At least 35 people died today when a boat carrying them capsized in the overflowing Rohini river here on Wednesday.
Maharajganj (UP), Aug 1 : At least 35 people died today when a boat carrying them capsized in the overflowing Rohini river here on Wednesday.
According to police officials, 28 bodies have been recovered so far, while seven people were still missing.About 90 people were in the boat when it capsized.
The accident occurred near Harakpur village of the district.
Around 55 people have been rescued by the PAC divers and two PAC motor boats had been pressed into service to trace the other missing.
Senior police and civil officials reached the spot to supervise rescue operations.
