London, March 10 : Hollywood actor Paul Newman has donated 10,000 pounds to a breast cancer unit of the National Health Service (NHS), where one of his British relatives is being treated.
The 'Butch Cassidy' star decided on financially aid the institution after he came to know that his daughter Elinor's sister-in-law Michelle was being treated for breast cancer.
According to reports, Newman regularly calls for news as Michelle undergoes chemotherapy her home in Swansea.
The actor, in actual, gave a sum of 20,000 pounds to Michelle to hand it over to medical teams, and she decided to split the amount between the city's Singleton Hospital and a local cancer support charity.
"By doing this he is helping women he has never met," British tabloid The Sun quoted her as saying.
This is not the first time when Newman has helped his UK relatives, for he gave 20,000 pounds when Michelle's mother Sue had breast cancer four years ago.
