Ludhiana, Jan.10 : A group of schoolchildren here have made a documentary film on AIDS and given their creative instincts an expression through mass media for public awareness.
Made by students of Ryan International School, the film named "Choti Si Aasha" (a little hope), is intended to enable people understand about the dreaded AIDS. It was screened at the PVR cinema in Ludhiana recently.
Students were motivated to attempt a documentary film after they along with other staff were briefed about AIDS by school authorities. They, later on, decided to make a film for public awareness.
"This time we felt, in Ludhiana, we should come out with a message for society. People are always unaware of certain things. This is a social cause. People are not aware so we felt to give a message through the film," said Grace Pinto, Director, Ryan International School, Ludhiana.
Parents of the students took pride in the fact that their children were part of such an endeavour.
"My kids worked in this film. I feel very proud because they worked for a great cause and I think all the schools should get a message and make such programs so that the kids get awareness about this so that our whole country get s transformed," said Rajneesh, mother of a student.
