London, November 27 : Amid concerns that the advent of internet telephony will come with a new trouble of spam calls, German industrial giant Siemens has come up with a way to filter out such disturbances.
The company says that the technique to filter telephony spams is similar to the one used in the battle against email spam.
The technology uses a computer on which a person can create a list of people whose calls have to be filtered, reports New Scientist magazine.
When a spam caller makes a call, the computer searchers for the caller's name and number on the list. If it finds a match, the call will be rejected.
