Paul Davis Ryan is the United States Representative for Wisconsin's 1st congressional district and was the nominee of the Republican Party for Vice President of the United States in the 2012 election.

2012 Presidential Election - Running mate for Mitt Romney

He was chosen as the Vice-Presidential Candidate of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney on August 11, 2012. Ryan was officially nominated at the Republican convention in Tampa on August 29, 2012.

After Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan failed to win the 2012 Presidential election, some of the Republicans blamed Paul Ryan for failing to win Wisconsin's 10 electoral votes, which President Obama won in 2008 by 14 votes.

A week after the 2012 Presidential Election, Paul Ryan returned to work in House. Ryan said he will continue his responsibilities as chairman of the House Budget Committee and representative of Wisconsin's First Congressional District.
