Professional Biography

John Kerry has three decades of service on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He has a combat career experience in the Vietnam War.

Kerry played the role of a diplomatic troubleshooter for the White House in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sudan.

Loyal Supporter of Barack Obama

John Kerry has been associated with Barack Obama since the early 2000s. At the 2004 Democratic National Convention that nominated him for president, Kerry gave the keynote speaking slot to Mr. Obama, then a little-known Illinois state senator. In early 2008, Kerry endorsed Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton. Kerry also helped Barack Obama prepare for the presidential debates against Mitt Romney in 2012.

On Indo-Pakistan relations

Kerry said that India has the right to expect Pakistan to take steps to shut down terrorist training camps on it soil. He felt Pakistan has to take on both Lashkar-e-Toiba and the Jaish-e-Muhammad, both of whom are being linked to November 08 terror attacks in Mumbai.

On December 21, 2012 President Obama has nominated John Kerry as the next U.S. Secretary of State. He is expected to receive the approval to succeed Hillary Clinton. Announcing the nomination President Obama said "In a sense, John’s entire life has prepared him for this role," He also praised Kerry for being immersed in every major foreign-policy debate in the last 30 years.
