Hutchison Telecommunications International Limited (HKEx: 2332; NYSE: HTX) is a global telecommunication service provider.

About the group

The Group currently offers mobile and fixed-line telecommunication services in Hong Kong and Israel, and operates mobile telecommunications services in Macau, Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Thailand. It was the first provider of 3G mobile services in Hong Kong and Israel and operates brands including "3", "Hutch" and "Orange".

Hutchison Telecom is a listed company with American Depositary Shares quoted on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker HTX and shares listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong under the stock code 2332. A subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based Hutchison Whampoa Group, Hutchison Telecom is dedicated to providing superior telecommunications services in dynamic markets.

As of September 30, 2008, the Group has maintained growth in a quarter where overall economic conditions were turbulent. Its total user base grew to 11.2 million with strongcontribution from Indonesian operations which grew 12.5% quarterly. Established markets Hong Kong and Israel recorded significant growth in 3G customers and continued to report progress in all other operational parameters.


In November 08, the Group announced that the Board has declared a special cash dividend of HK$7 per share or approximately US$13.55 per ADS (Note), totalling approximately HK$33.7 billion (or approximately US$4.35 billion).

On March 14, 2010, Hutchison Whampoa Limited ("HWL") and Hutchison Telecommunications International Limited ("HTIL") jointly announced that in relation to the proposed privatisation of HTIL, the scheme document is expected to be despatched on or about 15 March 2010 to HTIL shareholders, HTIL ADS holders and HTIL optionholders.

In May 2010, Hutchison Whampoa Limited ("HWL") and Hutchison Telecommunications International Limited ("HTIL") today jointly announced that the independent HTIL shareholders have approved the proposal to privatise HTIL put forward by the HWL group. On May 23, 2010, there was an announcement that the proposal to privatise HTIL was sanctioned by the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands on 21 May 2010 (Cayman Islands time). The proposal is expected to become effective on 25 May 2010 when the remaining conditions are expected to be fulfilled. The privatisation of HTIL became effective on 25 May 2010 (Hong Kong time).
