Bigg Boss


Bigg Boss is a reality TV programme broadcast in India based on the Big Brother format.

The show debuted on Sony India on 3 November 2006. The sixth season of Bigg Boss has begun on October 7, 2012.

Hosts

The Bigg Boss has been hosted by a number of television celebrities. Arshad Warsi, Shilpa Shetty, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt have hosted Bigg Boss so far.

Sony India has aired the inaugural season of Bigg Boss. Since then, Colors channel has aired all the subsequent seasons.

Hosts

Fifth Season

The fifth season of Bigg Boss was hosted by Sanjay Dutt. The season was launched on October 2, 2011 and the finale was aired on January 7, 2012. Eighteen housemates were present in the fifth season. Shweta Tiwari won the season. The house was in Karjat.

Sixth Season

The producers of Bigg Boss have made few changes for the sixth season. The house is designed with a new look and the housemates will have the company of a parrot and a fish in the house. The tag line for the sixth season of Bigg Boss is 'Alag Che' (different).

Salman Khan is hosting the show for the third time.

House

The house is shifted to Lonavala, a hill town in Pune for the sixth season. The main attraction is a statue of 'three wise monkeys' which is present by the poolside. The house will also have a panic room.

National award winning art director Sabu Cyril designed the house that has an area of 15,000 sq ft. There will be 70 cameras in the house watching every move of housemates round-the-clock.

Eighth Season

Rahul Mahajan is twice part of reality show Big Boss. He first participated in Bigg Boss 2 in 2008.

In 2015, Rahul Mahajan participated in Bigg Boss 8 Halla Bol as challenger. He was voted out of the show on January 25, 2015. His estranged wife Dimpy Mahajan was also part of the show.

Bigg Boss Halla Bol

Bigg Boss is a spin-off of Bigg Boss 8. Gautam Gulati was declared the winner of the show. Karishma Tanna finished as the first runner-up. Radio jockey Pritam Singh, who exited from Bigg Boss Halla Bol by taking Rs 25 lakh, came third. After Pritam exited, Gautam Gulati was declared the winner. Pritam Singh said he exited from the show as he is confident that Gautam will be declared winner because of his great fan following outside the House.
