Kepler 186f

Kepler 186f is an Earth like planet orbiting a star 500 light years away. Astronomers on 17 April 2014 said that Kepler is the planet that closely resembles the features of Earth.

The planet Kepler 186f is named after NASA's Kepler planet-finding mission. It has a diameter of 8700 miles (10% wider than Earth). It's orbit lies in the Goldilocks zone of its star. The temperate on the surface of the planet is neither too hot nor too cold and liquid water can freely flow on the surface.
