Whitney Elizabeth Houston (born August 9, 1963) is an American recording artist, actress, and former fashion model. She died of unknown causes on February 11, 2012 in Beverly Hills, California. Whitney was staying at the Beverly Hilton Hotel when she passed away. She was in the town to attend the 54th Grammy Awards.
Personal Biography
Whitney Houston married R&B singer Bobby Brown on July 18, 1992. She gave birth to Bobbi Kristina Houston Brown on March 4, 1993. Bobbi Kristina is her only child and Bobby Brown's fourth. She later separated from Bobby Brown and their divorce was finalized on February 1, 2007.
Drug addiction
Houston confessed that she was shocked to hear the news of Michael Jacksons death, and even went on to relate her own struggle with drugs to the King of Pops addiction to painkillers.

Death
Whitney Houston died on February 11, 2012 in Beverly Hills, California. She was in BH to attend the 54th Grammy Awards on Monday, February 13. Houson was pronounced dead at 3:55 pm (6:55 pm EST) at the Beverly Hilton hotel. Houston's bodyguard found the body in the hotel room. One of the members of the Whitney's entourage founderr her in the 4th floor room where she was staying and called the hotel security. The hotel's staff called 911 and when the paramedics arrived, she was found unresponsive. There were no signs of foul play and the Beverly Hills PD detectives have begun the investigation.

Induction into R&B Hall of Fame
Whitney Houston is among the first inductees into the R&B Music Hall of Fame Museum. On 18 October 2012 it was announced that Whitney Houston along with Michael Jackson along with 23 others are inducted into the Hall of Fame. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on 5 May 2013.

As of October 2012, Whitney Houston is fourth biggest-selling female singles artist in UK history. She has sold over 8.5 million singles in the UK.
