Vinod Kumar Singh


Vinod Kumar Singh is a former minister in Uttar Pradesh. He is also known as Pandit Singh.

He served as the Minister of State for Revenue and Rehabilitation.

In October 2012, Vinod Kumar Singh is alleged to have committed kidnap of the Chief Medical Officer of Gonda. The kidnap was allegedly committed when the CMO SP Singh has refused to accommodate the friends of the Minister in the list of contractual Ayush doctors. Vinod Singh allegedly barged into the doctor's residence in Gonda officers' colony on 8 October 2012 and kidnapped him along with his cohorts.

Following a massive outrage from across the country, the Minister was forced to tender his resignation. His resignation has been accepted by Governor on 12 October 2012. The Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav also appointed a two-member committee to probe the incident.
