Personal Biography

Syed Shahnawaz Hussain was born in Bihar on December 12, 1968.

Professional Biography

Shahnawaz Hussain was elected to Lok Sabha in the 1999 General Elections. He was appointed Minister of State for food processing industries, youth affairs and sports, human resource development and civil aviation. In 2001, he was given independent charge of Ministry of Coal. Shahnawaz Hussain later re-entered Lok Sabha winning the bye-election of Bhagalpur in November 2006.
