Sukhbir Singh Badal is the son of of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. Sukhbir took oath as Punjab Deputy Chief Minister on January 21, 2009. US educated Sukhbir was elected as Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president on January 31, 2008.
